What to get right
Mount at the front edge, not the back
Under-cabinet lighting fixed at the back of the unit lights the splashback and leaves the front of the worktop — where the chopping actually happens — in your own shadow. Mount as close to the front edge of the cabinet as the joinery allows, and add a shadow-gap batten so the source is not visible to anyone seated.
Use sensor switching inside wardrobes
A door-triggered sensor is the difference between wardrobe lighting that gets used and a switch nobody remembers. It also removes the failure mode where lights are left on inside a closed wardrobe for weeks, cooking the joinery and the tape.
Match cabinet CCT to the room
Cabinet lighting is seen directly alongside the room's main scheme, so a mismatch is glaring. Kitchens generally work at 3000-4000K; wardrobes and dressing areas are best at 3000K with CRI 90+, because that is where people judge what colour a garment actually is.
Give the driver a serviceable home in the carcass
